- AMON reported an error deleting a file. Why is that?
Occasionallly, AMON may report an error cleaning or deleting an infected file. This can happen when the file is created in a temporary folder and has since been deleted. To ensure that the infected file has been deleted, we suggest you close the alert window and perform an in-depth system scan with the NOD32 on-demand scanner. This will ensure that your computer is virus-free.
- "This installation package could not be opened" error
If you receive the following message (or similar) when installing ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0; "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
- nsetup.log File Reports XML file is missing
NOD32 can be installed using special command line parameters which allow for a more detailed configuration. For a full list of these parameters, click the Packages button from the Remote Install tab in the Remote Administrator Console, and then click Show me command line options.

- GLE error code 997
During a remote (push) installation, the error Could not retrieve required information from target computer (RES error code 14, GLE error code 997) is sometimes encountered. This problem can occur if the installation of NOD32 takes place from NOD32 Remote Administrator Server on a Windows 2003 Server to a client running the Windows 2000 operating system.
- “Server Connection Failure” error when using wireless PCMCIA Card
After installing NOD32 on a laptop with a Cellular Broadband Card, a "Server Connection Failure" error message is sometimes received when attempting to update NOD32. The most common cause of this error is that the connection management software for the card is erroneously detected as a proxy server. This renders NOD32 unable to access the Internet connection. To resolve the problem, manually change the proxy settings in NOD32 back to default using the steps below.
- Installation Error Message: The header is corrupt
This error occurs when a user tries to decompress (unRar) the .EXE installation file instead of allowing the installer to automatically extract the files. If you have downloaded the NOD32 installation file from ESET's website, please double-click this file to initiate the installation. The install files will be automatically extracted and the wizard will guide you through the installation process.
