With the purchase of an ESET NOD32 license, you will receive a unique username and password that allows you to download the latest version of ESET NOD32, as well as receive ongoing program component and virus signature updates. The number of licenses purchased equals the number of computers ESET NOD32 will be used on-i.e., a 4-User Pack is valid for four separate computers.

  • Why am I told that the Virus signature database update failed? (3.0)

An update failure can be attributed to many variables. Firewalls, proxies, and other software can interfere with the connection. The internet connection could have failed, or the update parameters could be incorrect. Be sure to check the following if you receive a "Virus Signature Update" error.

  • Where is my username located in the program settings?

If you have forgotten or lost your username and password, please click here to access our lost license page. If you are looking for just your username in the program settings, please see the information below. Following the purchase of ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0 or ESET Smart Security, registered users receive an email containing a username and password. In addition, to offer you the most timely response possible, this username will be required when requesting assistance from our Customer Care Department.

  • I cannot access the settings – I'm being asked for a password. What should I do?

In order to protect your ESET NOD32 Antivirus or ESET Smart Security configuration settings, the program provides an option to establish a user-defined or administrative password to access these settings. This password is separate from the product username and password which was emailed to you upon purchase of the product.
